Robert Borden law office sues ex-client in Klassen case
On Thursday February 7th 2008 the New Government of Saskatchewan announced they would pay the plaintiff Kari Klassen a further 18,750.00 which was held in abeyance pending the outcome of appeals in relation to Matthew Miazga. They further announced that they would pay another $18,750.00 to Kari Klassen which was also held in abeyance in relation to Carol Bunko-Ruys. Under the NDP Governement If Carol or Matthew were susessfull in their appeal to the Supreme Court the plaintiffs would lose all money held in abeyance. Robert Borden law office filed a counter appeal on Carol Bunko-Ruys on behalf of Kari Klassen without her knowledge. Since 2004 Robert Borden has only talked to Kari Klassen twice, both times were as a result of Kari calling him advising him he was fired, and that she wanted nothing more to do with him. The Supreme Court ruled against Borden/Holgates application for leave to appeal. The money held in abeyance in relation to Carol Bunko-Ruys was now lost forever. Kari Klassen’s children took it upon themselves to try and convince the New Saskatchewan Government to do the right thing and release all monies to the plaintiffs regardless of any appeals. They agreed.
Robert Borden law office has now filed An application requesting the Court of Queen’s Bench withhold all settlement monies from Kari Klassen as they believe she owes them $ 18,562.50. Their application will be heard at Court of Queen’s Bench on Thursday, February 28th.
